Star Quality…
An ability to make this delicious torte and a proficiency in Swedish are some of the skills my daughter cherishes, having experienced a memorable six months in Sweden. On her return, availing of the opportunity to work with a firm that provided location catering for film crews & enthused about her new culinary experiences she suggested a Swedish themed menu. Imagine her excitement when the star of the production Glenn Close sampled her Kladdkaka… JJ

It Couldn’t be easier…
æ Sift together the flour & cocoa powder, add the granulated sugar & beaten eggs
æ Melt the butter in a small saucepan over a low heat
æ Add to the rest of the ingredients stirring well to ensure there are no lumps
æ Pour the mixture into a greased 7” flan tin
æ Place on the centre shelf of a pre heated oven (gas mark 5) for 20 minutes
æ Allow to stand for 10-15 minutes, the cake will slowly deflate
æ Delicious served with fresh berry compote & vanilla cream
It’s Childs Play…
My daughter assures me that Kladdkaka is so simple to make that even young children in Sweden find it childs play, as I have never made it I will just have to take her word… JJ
I did not think you could improve on this but we had it last night with warm spiced plums & fresh cream...to die for :-))
